The Pharma-Food Economy
Résumé
Ce Cahier n° 1 de l'Observatoire des Grammaires Alimentaires introduit le concept d'économie pharmaco-alimentaire, défini comme un régime économique dans lequel une part croissante de la demande alimentaire est structurée par des innovations pharmacologiques capables de modifier les déterminants biologiques de la consommation. À partir de l'essor des agonistes du GLP-1, ce document propose un cadre analytique permettant d'interpréter les transformations en cours des comportements alimentaires, des stratégies industrielles, des rapports de force entre laboratoires, industriels et distributeurs, ainsi que les enjeux émergents de souveraineté alimentaire. Ce cahier est un document conceptuel. Il ne prétend pas démontrer définitivement une théorie, mais formaliser un concept destiné à être discuté, testé et enrichi au fil de l'évolution des connaissances et des systèmes alimentaires.
Summary
This Conceptual Paper No. 1 published by the Observatory of Food Grammars introduces the concept of Pharmaco-Food Economics, defined as an economic regime in which an increasing share of food demand is shaped by pharmacological innovations capable of modifying the biological determinants of food consumption. Drawing on the rapid diffusion of GLP-1 receptor agonists, the paper proposes an analytical framework for understanding the ongoing transformation of food demand, industrial strategies, retailer dynamics and emerging food sovereignty issues. This publication is intended as a conceptual working paper. It does not claim to establish a definitive theory but rather to provide a framework for discussion, future empirical testing and further conceptual development.
